Science Technology and Society (STS)

Dr. Haghighat has collaborated with the Science Technology and Society (STS) group at Virginia Tech for filing various proposals on nuclear management, safety and security policies, and non-proliferation policies.

Prof. Sonja Schmid from the STS group has established a Seminar on Interdisciplinary Research and Education on Nuclear emergency response (SIREN) in the NCR campus, involving engineers, policy and decision makers, and regulators.

Further joint efforts between NSEL and STS are undergoing for the establishment of a new seminar series on nuclear technology and policy.
