Undergraduate Minor in Nuclear Engineering

Overview

In Fall 2019, the VT Nuclear Engineering Program established a Minor in Nuclear Engineering for students enrolled in Engineering or Science disciplines. The purpose of this Minor is two fold:

1. Provide a more thorough foundation in nuclear engineering.

2. Prepare the engineering or science students for a career in the nuclear industry or for graduate studies in nuclear engineering.

Degree Requirements

1. 1. Requirements

   1. Complete basic course requirements for a Bachelor's degree.

   2. Complete a minimum of 18 hours of nuclear engineering - related coursework (12 hours of required courses and 6 hours of elective courses) from the course list below.

   3. Maintain a 2.0 in-Minor GPA with a minimum grade of C- or better in all courses which count toward the Minor. No Pass/Fail grades are permitted.
