United States Naval Academy (USNA)

The nuclear engineering program at VT, via NSEL, has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the USNA to establish an Accelerated Masters Program for the USNA midshipmen.

As part of the CRADA, Virginia Tech NEP students can utilize USNA facilities at the site of Annapolis, MD. Their labs facilities include, but are not limited to, several radioactive sources and detectors, as well as a subcritical reactor.

The subcritical reactor has been modeled by the VT³G group and used to perform an experimental benchmark of their code RAPID.
